Confession: I am a shopaholic. Anyone else? Don’t get me wrong, I never spend beyond my means and sometimes I don’t even buy anything at all (the simple act of window shopping is enough for me) but I just love the whole experience. If I am on a mission to purchase however, I will take ages over choosing the right thing, making sure I’ve covered all possibilities first. I had a new rug delivered just yesterday, thankfully I was really pleased with it – I had spent months agonising over the perfect monochrome/geometric combination that I was after! Now you understand why my husband refuses to come shopping with me any more *sigh*. My favourite kind of shopping is clothes shopping (or bags, or shoes…you get… View Post

Ah how I’ve missed my little corner of cyberspace over the last two weeks. I apologise for my absence but life kind of got in the way, you know how it is sometimes? But I’m back and have loads of posts I want to write; all currently filed somewhere in the back of my mind under ‘to be aired at a convenient moment’. Watch this space. So today’s ‘Little Loves’ post will be covering the last two weeks – a kind of double whammy if you like. I always love to reflect on my week so this time I get to do two of them and just pick the best bits to share with you all. Read I’ve become a real book worm… View Post

I was going to start by saying it’s been a nice week but in reality, it’s been raining quite a bit and the husband has had man flu (say no more). I’ve also done my back in, probably due to me forgetting an Osteopath appointment last Friday, but the less said about that the better. So why has it been ‘nice’? Time to share my #LittleLoves for this week… Read I’ve started a new book and have made time this week to read a little bit every night before going to sleep. ‘Try Not to Breathe’ is a debut novel by Holly Seddon and was lent to me by a friend. Right from the first page, I was hooked. If you enjoyed ‘The Girl on… View Post

I love trying out new make-up and beauty products. There are two reasons behind this love affair of mine: firstly, mother nature needs more than a little helping hand these days and secondly, if it’s going to look nice in my bathroom, I’m having it. I rarely spend much money on products these days, mainly because my pricey-but-worth-it Liz Earle stuff kept disappearing (nothing is sacred when you have teenage girls in the house). So in the name of keeping my stress levels to a minimum, whilst demonstrating the art of sharing, I started to buy cheap. And you know what? I’ve found some little gems. In fact these products are currently all on sale for less than £4! Garnier Micellar Water – £2.66 This little bottle… View Post

Since making the decision to reduce my working hours last week, I’ve felt so much lighter and less overwhelmed. I’ve even had time to take my little pooch for an autumn stroll – he loves a seasonal romp in the leaves. I also sat down and wrote a post about dealing with life when it goes belly up – personal experience this last year has taught me a lot so if that’s you, then go have a read. So what else have I been up to this week? I hear you cry. To follow is this week’s #LittleLoves… Read I have a new book waiting in the wings but have to admit to not having started it yet. In fact I’ve had a fairly… View Post
