I was going to start by saying it’s been a nice week but in reality, it’s been raining quite a bit and the husband has had man flu (say no more). I’ve also done my back in, probably due to me forgetting an Osteopath appointment last Friday, but the less said about that the better. So why has it been ‘nice’? Time to share my #LittleLoves for this week… Read I’ve started a new book and have made time this week to read a little bit every night before going to sleep. ‘Try Not to Breathe’ is a debut novel by Holly Seddon and was lent to me by a friend. Right from the first page, I was hooked. If you enjoyed ‘The Girl on… View Post

I love trying out new make-up and beauty products. There are two reasons behind this love affair of mine: firstly, mother nature needs more than a little helping hand these days and secondly, if it’s going to look nice in my bathroom, I’m having it. I rarely spend much money on products these days, mainly because my pricey-but-worth-it Liz Earle stuff kept disappearing (nothing is sacred when you have teenage girls in the house). So in the name of keeping my stress levels to a minimum, whilst demonstrating the art of sharing, I started to buy cheap. And you know what? I’ve found some little gems. In fact these products are currently all on sale for less than £4! Garnier Micellar Water – £2.66 This little bottle… View Post

Since making the decision to reduce my working hours last week, I’ve felt so much lighter and less overwhelmed. I’ve even had time to take my little pooch for an autumn stroll – he loves a seasonal romp in the leaves. I also sat down and wrote a post about dealing with life when it goes belly up – personal experience this last year has taught me a lot so if that’s you, then go have a read. So what else have I been up to this week? I hear you cry. To follow is this week’s #LittleLoves… Read I have a new book waiting in the wings but have to admit to not having started it yet. In fact I’ve had a fairly… View Post

I always thought my life was on an even keel. I’m ashamed to admit that I *almost* thought I had it sorted – nice house, well behaved kids, holidays abroad, enough money in the bank for a rainy day. But you know what happens when we become a little too comfortable, don’t you? Life turns on its head. Compared to the things that many people cope with on a daily basis, my daughter going into hospital for 5 months due to a mental breakdown, probably wasn’t all that huge. But having been told off repeatedly by well-meaning friends for belittling our situation and comparing my ‘thorn’ to others’, I will just say it how it is – life has been pants. My intention was to… View Post

Another Friday, another week is drawing to a close. In fact two weeks have passed since I last shared my Little Loves. It’s certainly been a fortnight of two halves – basking in glorious heat by the side of a pool one day, trudging through mud and christening my new winter coat the next. I’ve certainly got lots to share! To follow are this week’s #LittleLoves… Read I’ve read more this past fortnight than I have all year, probably something to do with being on holiday. Out of the three books I read, I would probably say that The Girl on the Train was my favourite, so much so that I devoured it in 36 hours! Due to all the hype, I… View Post
