The last time I wrote a post like this was almost a year ago. I’m not sure why I stopped doing them but suspect it might have something to do with my ongoing distraction issues.
I love watching ‘Monthly Favourites’ type videos on You Tube (Brummy Mummy of 2, Katie Ellison and The Anna Edit being some of my most frequently watched). I regularly find new things to try, from a fab cleaning product to the best mascara ever made.
I have a wide range of interests, as you know, so my own ‘favourite finds’ tend to reflect a good portion of those – beauty, fashion and home.
Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask
These hydrating face masks were actually recommended by someone on my Beauty Recommendations post. They were so enthusiastic about said product that when I spotted them in Superdrug on offer at £1.99, I nabbed a few immediately.
They really are exactly what the name suggests – a moisture bomb. If like me, you’re not the best at drinking the recommended 2 litres of water every day, then this is like giving your skin a massive glass of water in one direct hit.
Yes I looked ridiculous wearing it (even the dog was scared!) but it is so soothing and my skin felt soft and revitalised immediately afterwards. A once a month treat for the skin that I’ll definitely be using again.
Pink Summer Bag from Mango
Confession: I have this thing with bags.
I am an advocate for owning a bag for every season and have been on the look out for a summer bag that will go with a few different outfits.
I bought a pink bag last year and although the colour went with a lot of things, the bag was poorly made and so didn’t last.
When I spotted this little beauty in Mango, I knew that it would be perfect as an everyday bag in the summer months.
If like me you can’t bear having everything hanging around lose in the bottom of your bag, you’ll be pleased to hear that it has an attached zipped up bag on the inside. It’s also made of leather – for £39.99!
Fake Plants from Blooming Artificial
I cannot keep plants alive; I’ve tried and failed many times. I struggle even with succulents, over-watering them or forgetting to give them any attention at all.
Having bought some fake plants for work, I decided that they might also work at home so invested in a few from Blooming Artificial and I’m so pleased with them. The one in the image above cost £64.99 but there are others much cheaper than that, ranging from £34.99 upwards.
Fake plants often look just that but I think these ones could actually pass for the real thing. What do you think?
Bliss & Mischief Scented Candle from Rockett St George
I find that most scented candles have two things in common: the smell doesn’t last long and they are usually quite a feminine fragrance.
What I love about this candle is its distinctly masculine fragrance, described as ‘a splendid mix of pomegranate, pepper and spices‘ – it’s so unusual.
Once lit, the smell lasts for a couple of days afterwards and even when it’s not lit, the whole room is bathed in the aroma. Well worth its £32.00 price tag.
Joan Collins Timeless Contour Velvet Blusher
Blusher is something that I’ve known I should wear for a long time (I’m naturally quite pale) but have been too lazy to go in search of the right one for my skin tone.
I was kindly sent this blusher compact to try out and as you might expect from anything that bears the Joan Collins name, the compact itself is elegant and a little bit of luxury. It retails at £22.00.
Joan Collins Beauty is a new luxury brand of cosmetics, one I had not heard of before but would certainly look out for again. It’s aimed at the slightly more mature woman and is stocked at many high street retailers such as M&S.
Open the blusher up and there’s a handy mirror with a brush for application. Perfect for popping in your handbag. The soft, natural colour (Coral) is great for my skin tone, giving it a hint of warmth, without looking like I’ve caked the blusher on.
Fancy trying it out for yourself? I’ve kindly been gifted one to give away as a competition prize so just click on the Rafflecopter link below and follow the instructions to enter – don’t forget to leave a blog comment or your entry won’t be valid.
Come back next month for some more fab finds.
