[dropcap]I[/dropcap]’ve been looking forward to sharing this month’s home with you since I first made contact with the owner – Pamela from Life With Munchers.
Having admired her home for some time across social media, I was excited to see more. It’s situated right at the other end of the UK to me, high up in the Scottish hills. Pam has the most beautiful taste; I think you’re going to love it…
Who lives in your home?
I live with my husband, Scott, and two little ladies, Liv & Maisie.
Where do you live and how long have you lived in your home?
We live in the rural Aberdeenshire countryside, in the North of Scotland. We moved from the nearest town about 3 years ago now. We are still only a 10 minute drive from the town but the difference is staggering… i.e no mains gas, or water!
What were the first impressions of your home?
We fell in love with what it could be. It ticked so many of the boxes (not all!) and had some amazing features that we didn’t have before, coming from a background of new builds. All the big structural renovation work had been done, it was a case of taking it from country bumpkin to modern.
Have you had any major work done?
We’ve removed a wall and replaced the kitchen, bathrooms and all the internal woodwork and doors. Still on the list is sandblasting the granite walls outside and replacing the render.
What is your favourite room in the house?
I adore Liv’s bedroom the most. It’s just the perfect little girl’s room. Not only does it have the best view and amazing storage, but it rather sweetly steps down into the room.
Is there anything that you would change about your home if you could?
Oh my word, so much! We rushed into making so many decisions, because I just wanted it all finished. Also, I’m rather guilty of “the grass is greener”, so as much as I love having the space and silence around the house, if I could move it 5 minutes closer to the town to benefit from mains water, gas and better broadband that would be the ultimate dream!
In realistic terms though, if we could just finish the renovation, so I could live in a completed house again, that would be perfect. We went into this saying it was our forever home and therefore we had forever to finish it… But it’s quite overwhelming when you’re living it and surrounded dark red/brown wood.
FYI This is just the guest bedroom! (& sign is from Rockett St George)
What is the next home project that we can look forward to seeing on your blog?
Currently finishing the main living room…although it’s looking a bit sparse from all the bits and bobs that finish it off. Once we have done that, we’ll make a start on the outside.

Well it looks like Pamela and her family have already made a pretty good start on the garden! Don’t you just love it? What a stunning home with so much detail gone into the planning and design. Well done Pamela, I know you’ll continue using your creative flair as you finish off your living room and move into the garden.
Come back next month for another beautiful home.
