In the past, I’ve hated January – it’s too long, too cold, too dark and there’s never enough money for the month. This year? It’s zipped by and we are now almost at the end! I am even noticing lighter evenings and boy is that a welcome sight. As it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m joining in with Little Loves by sharing all of the things I’ve been loving in January. Here goes… Read I’ve finished two books this month – TWO! I persevered to the end of Davina McCall’s autobiography. Even though progress was halted about two-thirds of the way in (you’ll have to read last month’s Little Loves to find out why) it was an easy… View Post

Anyone know what day it is? I honestly don’t think I’ve had any idea for the last two weeks. I’m still undecided as to whether that means I’m totally relaxed or finally losing it! Answers on a postcard… I’ve been storing up this month’s Little Loves for some time because it’s been such a busy one. December is hectic, stressful and wonderful all at the same time. We’ve had relatives to stay over Christmas and are expecting more in a few days but for now, we are having a couple of much-needed lazy days. Today was the first day in months when none of us have had to get up for work or school. Bliss. What have I been loving… View Post

In case you hadn’t realised, we are almost at the end of another year. Each year seems to go by at a faster pace as I get older. Perhaps it’s something to do with realising that every moment needs to be cherished – time flies when you’re having fun eh? What a year it’s been. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I love nothing better than reflecting on time past and what better opportunity than at the end of a year? My ‘One Word’ for this year was ‘Release’ and I’ll probably unpack that at some point over the next few weeks but for now, this has been my year in numbers: 2000 Miles driven… View Post

I decided a while ago to pull back from writing a Little Loves post at the end of every week. It was slowly becoming a chore rather than a pleasure and finding the time to read (and make) something every week was adding to the pressure of an already busy life. The new plan is to write a post at the end of every month, which will hopefully be action packed and thus a more enjoyable read for you all. November. Where do I start? It seems to have been and gone in a whirlwind; so much so that I was caught out with the advent calendars yet again. When will I learn that venturing into Waitrose three days before… View Post

I remember announcing to my sister-in-law that I was going skiing for the first time and she almost fell off her chair: “But you hate the cold!” She’s right, I do hate the cold, but over the years I’ve made it my mission to find ways to keep warm in winter. I regularly wear leggings or thermals under my jeans and my ‘coatigan’ is a firm fixture during the winter months – indoors and out! I love winter fashion; the cosy factor is made for me and being able to disguise that extra layer of body fat that appears almost as soon as we kiss goodbye to the summer months, is an added bonus. When LOTD asked me if I… View Post
