Leopard print or animal print has been around since the dawn of time (literally). After the cave man discarded it in favour of proper clothes, it seemed to disappear from the fashion scene for quite some time. I am reliably informed however, that the real out-there fashion icons would often be seen flashing a hint of animal print, even in the 1920s. Of course in the swinging 60s it came back with a vengeance and the high street was awash with it. Remember the 70’s icon, Debbie Harry of Blondie fame (you’ll need to be as old as me to know who I’m talking about)? She managed to wear leopard print from top to toe and still look cool. All traces of snow are finally disappearing and the daffodils seem to be pleading “Is it time to come out yet?“. The answer to that question is a resounding ‘YES’! Winter it really is time to bid you farewell. At the end of every season I like to write a little catch up, looking back on what has been, whilst sharing some of the highlights. Hopefully it will inspire you to do some reflecting of your own. Inside If you’re new to my little space on the web, it’s probably best if I let you know now: I’m an over-thinker and an over-sharer. The double whammy! I am also passionate about making the very best of myself and life in general,… View Post

Two things to celebrate today: it’s Friday (what’s not to like?) and it’s one of my favourite times of the month because I get to share all of the things I’ve been loving lately. February is usually a dreary month that despite only being 28 (or 29) days long, seems to drag on forever. I know it’s not over yet but again, I’m sat here wondering where the month went. Anyone else? The first half of February was pretty challenging. All five of us were fighting various coughs and colds and I was incapacitated for a week with a bad back. Thankfully we had a week skiing in France to look forward to and despite the boy breaking his wrist in… View Post

In the past, I’ve hated January – it’s too long, too cold, too dark and there’s never enough money for the month. This year? It’s zipped by and we are now almost at the end! I am even noticing lighter evenings and boy is that a welcome sight. As it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m joining in with Little Loves by sharing all of the things I’ve been loving in January. Here goes… Read I’ve finished two books this month – TWO! I persevered to the end of Davina McCall’s autobiography. Even though progress was halted about two-thirds of the way in (you’ll have to read last month’s Little Loves to find out why) it was an easy… View Post

Anyone know what day it is? I honestly don’t think I’ve had any idea for the last two weeks. I’m still undecided as to whether that means I’m totally relaxed or finally losing it! Answers on a postcard… I’ve been storing up this month’s Little Loves for some time because it’s been such a busy one. December is hectic, stressful and wonderful all at the same time. We’ve had relatives to stay over Christmas and are expecting more in a few days but for now, we are having a couple of much-needed lazy days. Today was the first day in months when none of us have had to get up for work or school. Bliss. What have I been loving… View Post
