My husband always seems to suffer the worst though (of course!!)

At which your sister burst out laughing and said”whoops, he must have overheard me telling a friend that at church this morning”.

Know there’s an interesting expression for you!

When you say that your husband will get the weak strain, presumably he will get the weak strain but have at least four days off work ‘dying’ in bed?? I hope you’re all better soon.

We’ve had just the same in our house (and the houses of nearly every girl in my daughter’s class). My daughter was properly ‘ill’ for a day – really pale, non-stop coughing and no energy to do anything. My eldest took great delight in telling her that she ‘wasn’t ill’. Until he got it. Then it was really bad, but he bravely soldiered on. My husband seems to have had it FOREVER and has taken rather a lot of paracetamol and blocked the toilet with all of his tissues. And me? I had a throat like razor blades and a blocked nose, but I ran 12 miles anyway. I’m still a bit snotty, but I’m basically invincible!
When I mentioned to my husband that it was weird he always got colds worse than me and wondered why, he just got cross! But there must be a reason, right?
