It’s been a while since I wrote a chatty post but it’s halfway through summer, we’ve been on holiday, and I am feeling in need of a catch up. I love that a blog can be like an online diary (albeit one that the whole world can read!) and when I started blogging five years ago, that was my intention. This blog has morphed into a quest to find myself after kids but I do still enjoy offloading. So if you’re missing my weekly Little Loves post (Morgana is having a holiday) consider this a substitute. Incidentally, did you see that I had a good nosey around Morgana’s home earlier this week? Inside {Feeling Redundant} People always warned me about… View Post

I know what you’re thinking, the Alps is a winter destination: snow, skiing, a sneaky vin chaud at the top of the mountain. Well yes of course it is, but have you ever considered going in the summer months? We hadn’t, until we bought an apartment in the Alps. In fact even then, we assumed that Les Gets would be a ghost town in the summer holidays and we might be the only ones foolish enough to drive 12 hours to spend two weeks with bored teenagers. How wrong we were! The first time we visited the Alps in summer, was June 2015 and we were surprised to find that the whole region comes alive in the summer months. I’m now genuinely… View Post

Every five years, three girlfriends and I jet off for a long weekend, usually to a city in Europe, hopefully to a place that none of us have been to before. Ten years ago we set up a bank account, agreeing to deposit £15.00 each month, to ensure that this little adventure actually happens. You know how the intention is firmly there but the funds or time are not always willing? It’s worked out brilliantly so far, with enough money to afford us a good break in a nice hotel, all spending money included. Believe it or not, this time I actually came back with more money than I started! Five years ago it was Verona (a city that stole my heart); this year it was… View Post

Last Sunday was declared the hottest day of the year so far (not hard considering it’s only April). I’m sure I wasn’t the only Brit airing their milk bottle legs for the first time in about 6 months. I’m also pretty certain I wasn’t the only one staring at a rather scarlet reflection in the mirror later on that evening. Will we ever learn? Summer is on its way. Like me, I imagine you’re now wishing that you had taken better care of your skin over the winter months, whilst hastily researching every step-by-step guide to a bikini body (if you find one that still involves eating and drinking wine, then please let me know). Unlike me, I imagine you booked your family summer break months ago and have been excitedly dreaming of… View Post

Here we are again, on the cusp of the weekend and another week down. Since I last wrote on this here blog, I’ve been to the Alps and back. I’ve also experienced snow, sunshine, rain and freezing fog. No wonder I’m having trouble working out what season we are in! Either way, Spring we are so ready for you – please stop hibernating. Here are all of the things I’ve been loving this week – be warned, it’s a little snow/ski heavy! Read I’m a creature of habit and one of the things I like to do, is buy a Red magazine every time I go on holiday. So I’ve devoured the April edition of Red this week and found many… View Post
